Information on Selkirk Rex

The Selkirk has been described as the cat in sheep’s clothing for obvious reasons. They are very affectionate and loving and as a breed have that something extra!!!

The Selkirk rex is the result of a dominant gene which gives the coat its wave or curl and lovely feel. The curly coat can be either long haired or shorthaired; we have one of each although they are from the same parents but different mating.

At present there are no restrictions on coat colour, pattern or eye colour combinations for showing the Selkirk rex

We are members of the Selkirk Rex Cat Club and if you are interested in learning more about the breed please visit the clubs informative website.
